  3. Back (and neck) pain is the number one cause of disability in developed countries (in terms of disability adjusted life years)
  4. 1/3 of workers compensation costs are due to back pain
  5. Common causes of back pain include: poor posture, spinal misalignments, injury, incorrect lifting technique
  6. Anatomy facts: Your back is made up of spinal joints, discs, nerves, muscles, tendons and ligaments. A problem to any of these areas may cause lower back pain
  7. Solutions to back pain: Stay active and exercise, try manual therapies (chiropractic, physiotherapy, remedial massage), stretch regularly, try ice therapy to reduce pain
